Gloria's husband is in a coma after a bullfighting accident. Gloria becomes a drifter, leaves for Mexico, ends up an alcoholic, and is deported back to Spain after witnessing the murder of two policemen. In Madrid, the killer has followed her, well bent on getting rid of her and retrieving a mysterious notebook.
If you want to discover Victoria Abril’s dark side, here it is, in this dark squalid noir film, a descent into hell, like a feminine and spanish Jim Thompson Transcending the classic plot, Diaz Yanes delivers a social portrait where the woman, far from being a victim, is a force of nature: though life doesn’t treat her kindly, she has no intention of losing it.
