After Drib (2017), Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli continues to scrutinize social postures and individual impostures, this time ferociously attacking the cult of ego, and complacent outsider’s views as an absolute quest. Borgli pushes his logic to its end, reaches beyond reality to better describe it, even if has to get into body horror. Kristine Kujath Thorp’s (Ninjababy) performance is beyond belief. Watching Sick of Myself, you don’t know if you should laugh, cry or be terrified, all the more because what Kristoffer Borgli hands us, is a mirror.
