In the fourteenth century, at the end of the Goryeo dynasty, someTaoist monks search for a divine sword : nowadays South Korea is under attack by aliens. A time rift will bring the protagonists together by traveling from one world to the other.
The gates of time have no more secrets for Dong-hoon Choi. After Woochi, relating the adventures of a Taoist monk sent to modern day Korea, he’s back with this amusing blend of the traditional wedding story and apocalyptic scifi full of digital special effects, a chaotic hybrid inviting all the action genres to meld them into a tornado of rejoicing anachronisms, rich with magic spells, martial arts, explosions and aliens. This exuberant movie ‘s big success in Korean cinemas made a sequel compulsory. Hang on to your seats, the festival ends like a fireworks display, with quite a final bang.
