A famous neurosurgeon, Rex Martin must work for Eunice, a corporation centered around a mathematician gone paranoid after locking an essential secret in the depths of his brain..But Rex too will soon collapse, doubting with each passing day the veracity of his identity.
Responsible for the best Twilight Zone episodes, Charles Beaumont’s Brain Dead is the most stimulating mindfuck since Brazil. A repeated Poe adaptor for Corman, he pushes his variation on the famous poetic hypothesis of “a dream within a dream”, into delirium tremens. David Lynch probably remembered it when in 1997 he once again played with Bill Pullman’s brain - and ours - by losing him on an unforgettable highway.
