In Seoul, the survivors of an immense earthquake get organized in the only building left standing. Every stranger must be expelled, even if the freezing cold outside will surely kill them.
Very far from the Korean blockbusters we’re accustomed to, this extraordinary post-apocalyptic film, while always remaining spectacular, takes an intimate and authentic view of humanity in its atrocious normality. The community becomes malevolent without even realizing it, and in all simplicity, a dictatorship sets in. Masterly directing and intense emotions for one of this edition’s shockers, that has us experience the end of times with rare intensity.
