Kennedy, an insomniac ex-cop thought to be dead, nonetheless continues to work for a corrupt system, wandering through the streets of Mumbai, between revenge and redemption.
The announcement of a new film by Anurag Kashyap (The Mumbai Murders, Gangs of Wasseypur) is always good news. With handsome Rahul Bhat as the cursed hero, as talkative as John Wick, and ex-porn star Sunny Leone as the hypnotic femme fatale, Kennedy leads us into a nocturnal descent into hell, with no hope of ever seeing the light. Never had the filmmaker been so virulent, delivering a scathing political charge, in this violent, lyrical and stylised film, that slowly edges towards tragedy.
