A killer is on the loose and a clumsy fortune teller crosses paths with a young man fascinated by murder, whose destiny he would like to change before he commits one.
Beware: Soi Cheang is back after his tetanising Limbo. Putting aside eschatological black and white, he demonstrates hell can also be depicted using gleaming colors. With his now familiar sense of violence, the director questions the capricious workings of fate by mixing very giallesc noir with the supernatural, adding a rare ingredient in his cinema: humor. Beyond its galvanizing frenzy, Mad Fate is also a sound reflection on the great Hong Kong solitude.
