Novelty
As he’s about to get married, a jazz pianist living on an island is tormented by the ghost of his former mistress whom he pushed from the top of the lighthouse.
No gigantism in this ghost movie mixing the supernatural and mystery in the manner of William Castle, in a place beaten by waves and wind, well suited to the bizarre. Tormented would only be a standard film if Gordon hadn’t shown such great eccentricity in his representation of ghosts and special effects - to the point where they often become funny. The ghost only appears to its victim by fragments, for instance like a face floating in the air like a moving collage on the frame…. Reminiscent of Obayashi and his House..
