Torn between her family and her love for Jason, Medea lashes out at her father and flees with her lover by car towards unknown parts, chased by her brother. But Jason’s betrayal will drive her to a point of no return.
For his first feature film, Tony Paraskeva proves to be very bold. He proposes a re-adaption in prose of Medea, and taints it with conceptual abstract horror, somewhere between the theater of the absurd and Peter Greenaway's experimentations. Both romantic and hyper contemporary, his sumptuous aesthetics follow the horizon of dreams and leave us in a state of weightlessness. A haunted formal experience, almost musical with its Shakespearean diction and its enveloping ambient drone.
