Two years after Orgy of the damned, Ape Man pursues his wanderings in Hell’s underworld, searching for his adoptive son. He finds him, now an adult, but on the side of the dictatorial regime.
Austria’s answer to Bosch ends his underground experimental trilogy with a formal and emotional climax. From post-apocalyptic visions of occult fascism to black masses, Norbert Pfaffenbichler conjures a macabre, haunting and beautiful liturgy, steeped in baroque obsessions with ossuaries and squeaking automatons, echoing Häxan and Eyes Wide Shut. A true punk ritual immersed in a post-rock and industrial soundtrack, his cinema has never made the abyss of our times feel so tangible. And out of this tragedy of chaos, new emotions emerge for the first time: love and sorrow.
