In the XIXth century, in the ruthless and wild backlands of Canada, the fur trade is in decline. In an outpost ravaged by famine, a mercenary struggles to unite the survivors against the cold and hunger… and an invisible threat that seems determined to wipe out humans.
We regularly think that Hammer doesn’t exist anymore, but here it is again, reborn from its ashes, with this beautiful harsh and cruel film inspired by Native American mythologies. Casey Walker reconnects both with the epic grandeur of great snowy adventures tales and visceral horror. Drawn into the dread of the vast white wilderness, Ithaqua gradually drifts into a madness and an unexpected violence that leave us astonished.
