Vito, a young man with a clear cut future, has been chosen as his successor by the local mafia boss, on the condition that he marry a virtuous young girl from a poor family. He sets his sights on Francesca, fifteen years old. First flattered, she refuses, incurring Vito’s wrath.
Inspired by a true story, Damiano Damiani at the height of his talents, paints the portrait of a corrupt patriarchal world that only youth, embodied by the magnificent figure of a rebellious and dignified teenager, seems capable of overturning. Augmented by Ennio Morricone’s splendid score and  masterful directing, with a graphic virtuosity fully expressed in confined spaces, The Most Beautiful Wife reveals an immense Ornella Muti who carries the film to its heart-wrenching epilogue.
