Working in a wig factory with punishing production quotas, two sisters must face the death of their mother: suicide… or demonic possession? While their younger brother has the ability to heal his own wounds, an entity is lurking, searching for a body to possess.
It’s about time to recognize the “hair film” as a subgenre of Asian horror. In the wake of Ring and Exte, always opposed to capitalism, Edwin, with rejoicing inventiveness, mixes horror tale and social critique to better gratify us with both absurd and unsettling scenes. While the 2026 selection counts several terrifying films, it’s quite clear that in the field of combining graphic horror, outrage, and weirdness, Sleep No More leaves them all far behind.
