Centered on its Westernesque hero, Turgaud both returns to Adilkhan Yerzhanov's early work (the gangster movie tinged with absurdity) while constantly reinventing his style, as the director continues to explore his disillusioned nihilistic path that has shaped his work since Steppenwolf. Its stunningly beautiful direction and deadpan humor allow the film to deliver a profoundly dark view of the world: this film, one of its director's very best, dares everything. Unmissable!
